Loving God...Loving Others

Know Jesus

"In your personal opinion, what do you understand it takes for a person to go to Heaven?"

Your answer to this question is, perhaps, the most important answer you'll ever give.  There are a number of opinions held by different  people on this subject, however, if one wants a true answer to this question, people are the wrong ones to seek out an answer from.  If you want an answer to the question of how to get to Heaven you should just go to the One who created it in the first place.  The Bible answers this important question in the following way:

  Forgiveness
We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God's forgiveness.
"In Him (meaning Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins." - Ephesians 1:7a, NKJV

  Available
    Forgiveness is available.  It is:
AVAILABLE FOR ALL

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." -
John 3:16, NKJV

    BUT NOT AUTOMATIC
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord', shall enter the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 7:21a, NKJV

  Impossible
It is impossible for God to allow sin into Heaven.
GOD IS:

      - LOVE
"For God so loved the world..." - John 3:16, NKJV
- JUST
The Bible tells us that "the wages of sin is death."
     Romans 6:23, HCSB
- MAN IS SINFUL
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23,
     NKJV

The question is, "How can a sinful person enter Heaven, where God allows no sin?"

  Turn
Think about it this way...if you were driving down the road and someone asked you to turn, what would he or she be asking you to do?

They'd be asking you to change directions...stop going the way you're going now and go a different way!

In the Bible, the word for Turn is Repent.  It means:
TURNING FROM SOMETHING - SIN AND SELF

Jesus said, "Unless you repent you will all likewise perish." - Luke 13:3b, NKJV
TURNING TO SOMEONE - TRUST CHRIST ONLY!
The Bible tells us that "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures." - 1 Corinthians 15:3b-4, NKJV
And it tells us, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." -
Romans 10:9, NKJV.

  Heaven
Heaven is eternal life.  It is:
HERE

Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." - John 10:10b, NKJV
  HEREAFTER
Jesus also said, "If I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also" - John 14:3, NKJV

The question is "HOW...How can a person have God's forgiveness, Heaven and eternal life, and Jesus as personal Savior and Lord?"

The answer is...only by trusting in Christ and asking Him for forgiveness.  FAITH also stands for FORSAKING ALL I TRUST HIM!

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6, HCSB

If you would like to accept Christ's forgiveness and receive Him as your personal Savior and Lord, do so by praying a simple prayer like this:

Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and that I have displeased You in many ways.  I believe You died for my sins and that you rose again from the dead on the third day.  Lord, I want to turn from my sin and ask You to come into my life as my Savior and Lord.  From this day on, I belong to You and want to live a life that pleases You.  Thank You, Jesus, for saving me.  Amen.

If you just prayed this prayer, the Bible says that you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).  Tell someone about what Jesus has done for you.  Get involved with a local Bible believing church and be baptized!  If you prayed this prayer for the first time, please contact us so we can assist you in your spiritual growth.
